RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Charlotte Office. RK&K has been present in North Carolina for over sixty years! As a Geotechnical Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare of geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
- Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
- Preparation of bridge, roadway and retaining wall inventory reports and foundation recommendations,
- Post-bid retaining wall plans,
- Foundations recommendations for other structures,
- Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering
Required Skills and Experience
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Four (4)+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT experience
- Professional Engineer License
- Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Microstation
- Passion for client service and engineering
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering
- Seven (7)+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT experience
