What We're Looking For

At HNTB, you can create a career that is meaningful to you while building communities that matter to all of us. For more than a century, we have been delivering solutions for some of the largest, most complex infrastructure projects across the country. With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.
This opportunity is responsible for designing and implementing BI solutions that transform data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting objectives, build scalable dashboards, and develop data models using modern BI tools and techniques. The role also includes optimizing data workflows, maintaining dataset configurations and governance standards, and supporting the effective use of BI platforms beyond standard report development.
The ideal candidate brings experience in construction and capital program delivery and applies that background to interpret data, identify trends and risks, and provide clear, actionable recommendations. Dashboards and reports are expected to support decision-making and guide program performance rather than simply display data, ensuring analytics remain closely aligned with how projects are planned, managed, and executed.

What You'll Do:

  • Translates business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions.
  • Designs and develops dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using modern BI tools.
  • Builds and maintains ETL pipelines and data models for reporting and analytics.
  • Conducts unit testing and troubleshoots BI solutions for accuracy and performance.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data sources and systems.
  • Documents technical processes and maintains metadata repositories.
  • Mentors junior developers and contributes to BI best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of related experience, or
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field and 1 years of related experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 6 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle BI.
  • Strong SQL and ETL development skills.
  • Knowledge of OLAP, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex project or program data into executive‑level insights and recommendations.

What We Prefer:

  • Industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience in construction management, program management, or project controls environments, with the ability to contextualize financial, schedule, and performance data.
  • Familiarity with capital programs, infrastructure delivery, or large-scale project portfolios.
  • Professional certification or accreditation, such as CMAA or PMI is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working across business, project delivery, and IT teams to align analytics with real-world execution and decision
    needs.
