INTECON is seeking an experienced Programmer (Mid-Level) to support the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) through its upcoming IDIQ contract. This position will contribute advanced data processing and programming expertise to support quantitative analysis, policy evaluation, and reporting on Medicaid and CHIP programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, familiarity with health data, and the ability to deliver high-quality, policy-relevant data products that inform MACPAC’s mission.
- Develop, test, and implement programming solutions and data processing pipelines to support task order deliverables.
- Process large administrative and survey datasets, including Medicaid/CHIP data when applicable.
- Clean, transform, and merge datasets from multiple sources to support quantitative analysis.
- Document code, data structures, and analytic processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement appropriate data management and analysis workflows.
- Contribute to the preparation of tables, figures, and summary statistics for reports and presentations.
- Assist in quality control of data outputs and analytic deliverables.
- 3+ years of data processing and programming experience.
- Experience with one or more relevant programming languages/tools:
- SAS, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience handling large administrative or survey datasets.
- Strong understanding of data cleaning, transformation, merging, and validation techniques.
- Ability to write efficiently, well-documented, and reproducible code.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality outputs.
- Excellent communication and collaborative team skills.
- Familiarity with Medicaid or CHIP data is preferred.
- Experience supporting Medicaid or CHIP data analysis projects.
- Familiarity with CMS T-MSIS data, MSIS, MAX, or related datasets.
- Experience supporting federal or state health policy analysis.
- Prior experience working under an IDIQ contract or on federal task orders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
