INTECON LLC is seeking an Entry-Level Programmer to support the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) through its upcoming IDIQ contract. The Entry-Level Programmer will contribute to data processing, data management, and basic analytic tasks supporting high-priority Medicaid and CHIP policy research projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in health policy data analysis in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform data processing and data management tasks to support policy analysis projects.
- Assist in cleaning, transforming, and managing large datasets (such as survey or administrative data).
- Develop and maintain basic programming scripts and workflows in statistical or programming languages.
- Support preparation of tables, charts, and data visualizations for technical reports and presentations.
- Document programming processes and contribute to quality assurance and data validation activities.
- Work collaboratively with senior programmers, analysts, and researchers to support project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, public health, social science, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of data processing experience or completion of a relevant degree program.
- Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used for data analysis (e.g., SAS, Stata, R, or Python).
- Familiarity with data management concepts and ability to work with large datasets.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to data quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exposure to Medicaid or CHIP data or public health datasets.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Medicaid/CHIP policy or public health topics.
- Previous experience supporting federal or state government contracts is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
