Job Description
Summary:
The Production Crew Leader will be responsible for the safe operation of all production equipment and processes within the assigned shift in order to produce high quality products at optimum levels while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations. The Production Crew Leader will be responsible for driving culture change in safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction and environmental impact on the production floor through the development and implementation of best practices. This position requires effective interpersonal skills and decision making ability to resolve complex problems.
Responsibilities:• Safely operate all production equipment and processes within the assigned shift.• Ensure that all equipment and processes are operated according to established procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.• Maintain appropriate documentation and records to document compliance with regulatory requirements and to provide accurate information regarding the production process.• Monitor the performance of all equipment and processes throughout the shift and make adjustments as necessary to optimize their performance.• Respond quickly and effectively to any deviations or other issues encountered during the shift including stopping production if necessary to prevent a problem escalating.• Follow all relevant food safety policies and procedures and take appropriate action if they are not being followed by others.• Participate in cross functional teams to improve operations and address challenges.• Promote and encourage continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction.• Support the development and training of production personnel.• Develops team members through training, coaching and mentoring.• Serve as a coach and mentor for new employees.
Qualifications:• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment required.• Experience working in a leadership role preferred.• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.• Ability to read, write and speak English required.• Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with others.• Problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues.• Computer literacy.• Good time management and prioritizing skills.• Knowledge of FSMA regulations and HACCP principles preferred.
