The Opportunity:
The Technology Advisor II uses their advanced analysis, research, technology, and integration skills to provide subject matter expertise and technology strategy and solutions for financial institutions, external vendors, and internal technology and business units of Velera. Develops medium-high complex solutions that require analysis and research. Works on multiple projects as a technology lead and completes complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance and makes use of the individuals’ high degree of knowledge within one or more areas of technology consulting and business analysis. Provides troubleshooting and solutioning to reach the client or business objective.
Day in the Life:
- Manages medium-high complex client and digital provider integration projects throughout the design, development, testing, and go-live stages acting as a subject matter expert for all integration points between the client to digital provider to Velera endpoint(s) to card processor/vendor and back to client core.
- Creates detailed specifications from which solutions may be developed and tested utilizing one’s subject matter expertise in the product development process.
- Identifies new technologies, partners, and applications to enhance and improve the company’s market or internal offerings.
- Supports Discovery and Client Projects teams in pre- and post-sale activities by listening to client needs and optimizing the adoption of the Co-op technology catalog.
- Partners with members of the product team to assess needs, conduct root cause analysis, and utilizes SME technology knowledge to improve Velera’s technical maturity.
- Participates in technical and non-technical conversations regarding integration and architectural decisions.
- Works with internal corporate functions to assess their technology portfolios and develop/drive technology roadmaps that align with the organization’s strategic priorities while assisting with development of business cases, project charters, test plans and test cases, vendor and hardware/software selection, and providing recommendations on technology best practices.
- Enables well-informed decision making by advising clients and internal corporate service delivery areas on the advantages and disadvantages of various options aligned with product and technology offerings.
- Resolves complex business problems through automated solutions while addressing the risks and impact of changes to the business and technology strategies.
- Engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously and meets aggressive deadlines amid shifting priorities.
- Influences clients, business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware/software selection and/or vendor selection.
- Provides troubleshooting and solutioning to reach the client or business objective by taking on highly complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance, and makes use of the individuals’ high degree of knowledge within one or more areas of technology consulting and business analysis.
- Conducts a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance tests. Conducts tests using client data to be certain client needs will be met.
- Identifies gaps or inefficiencies and devises and/or modifies processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiencies.
- Possess and utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to express technical concepts in business terms and/or business concepts in technical terms required.
- Consults directly with external clients and may travel to the client site.
- Provides mentorship to less experienced Technology Advisors and Agile development team members.
- Committed to a culture of continuous improvement and possess outstanding customer service skills, as well as extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Enable well-informed decision making by advising clients on the advantages and disadvantages of various options aligned with product and technology offerings.
- Owns the technology solution for the client as part of client project technology delivery including the technical documentation of customer installs.
- Ability to think strategically, apply analytical/critical thinking to assignments, and lead complex functions throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in MIS, Business, Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Five (5) years of experience in a technology consultative role and/or application development experience.
- Eight (8) years of experience with payment and/or card processing technology solutions, or similar industry experience.
- Consulting background or extended experience in presenting and advising internal and external stakeholders in technology strategy required.
- Prior experience in IT development with the Microsoft technology stack (Windows, .NET, Azure, SQL Server, API’s, etc.)
- Proven integration experience with API’s in a cloud-hosted environment, and/or workflow automation.
- Prior experience with Fiserv 3270 is a big plus
- Client technical design and solutioning for integration with card processors and cores.
- Client implementations of integrated solutions with card processors and cores.
- Ability to travel as needed, less than 25%
