Overview
Perform tactical functions associated with planning, implementing, and managing assigned US Conec product lines. This role supports product data management within ERP, forecasting, product launches and changes, pricing analysis, and marketing initiatives. The Product Specialist provides day-to-day product support to internal teams and external customers while partnering closely with Product Management, Operations, Sales, and Engineering.
Responsibilities- Maintain a high level of expertise in the commercial and technical aspects of assigned product lines.
- Provide daily tactical and longer-term strategic support to Product Managers.
- Support Operations on commercial aspects of assigned product lines.
- Analyze sales and market trends by product, customer, region, and application; provide recommendations on new products, pricing, and cost strategies.
- Maintain and manage product data, forecasts, safety stock, and supply chain requirements within the US Conec ERP system.
- Analyze pricing data and maintain price curves with guidance from Product Management.
- Maintain competitive technical and commercial product databases.
- Coordinate and manage new product releases and product change notifications.
- Analyze import and export data for duty implications and coordinate drawback payments with U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
- Maintain working knowledge of optical fiber and cable, single-fiber and multi-fiber connectors, and data center and service provider network architectures.
- Assist with trade shows, website content, and marketing or promotional initiatives.
- Support Applications Engineering and Account Management during customer training and technical engagements.
- Additional duties and/or travel may be required based on business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in the fiber optic industry or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze sales, pricing, and market data and communicate insights effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
- Technical or engineering degree.
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable, connectors, and related hardware products.
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to product launches, product change management, or pricing analysis.
- Experience supporting customer training or technical sales activities.
