About the role...

As a Product Owner for Bullhorn, you will be responsible for defining and delivering key product features. You will work closely with product leads and scrum teams to provide direction, guidance and support. The Product Owner will also be responsible for demoing new features to internal staff as well as working cross functionally to product internal and customer facing documentation. The Product Owner role requires in-depth product knowledge, the ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications, and an understanding of workflow and feature relationship. The Product Owner will report to the Director of Product Management.

The Product Owner works closely with agile development teams and is the nexus between Product, Development, User Experience and Documentation.  In this role, you will be responsible for making sure teams are working on the right things at the right time to deliver the best possible products to our customers.

A typical day might include…

  • A discovery call with users to validate the UX for a new feature

  • Writing user stories and going deep on requirements in grooming sessions with your team

  • Attending Standups with agile development teams

  • Writing release documentation & training cross-functional teams on new product enablement

  • Working with Product Managers, Architects, UX Designers & Developers to drive product development

  • Defining release and sprint goals for development team(s)

  • Owning all operational aspects of agile development: epic breakdown, story planning & writing, sprint planning & delivery

  • Managing and resolving customer & internally reported product escalations. Balancing resolution priority against roadmap commitments  

  • Ensuring the development team understands the value and impact of their work.

  • You've loved every moment of the 2+ years you've spent working with products, getting into the weeds and being a go-to expert for your product

  • Must have experience with Bullhorn products

  • Must have experience working on Payroll and/or Billing Software

  • You enjoy collaborating with a team and have experience with Agile methodologies

  • You like dissecting challenges and coming up with solutions

  • You have some technical chops, potentially from being a developer or QA in the past!

Bonus points for...

  • Experience working in an Enterprise B2B SaaS-based organization

  • Experience working on CRM systems

  • An undergraduate technical degree (extra bonus points for an MBA!)

  • Experience with Bullhorn products

  • Experience in the staffing and recruiting industry
