The Senior Product Owner is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. The Senior Product Owner work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Product Owner maximizes value of product created by an Agile team. Liaises with stakeholders and the development team ensuring the right product is being built, in the right order, within budget and by the deadline. Serves as the Agile team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

  • Create and refine user stories for the team and maintain a robust backlog ensuring adequate workload for dev team members.

  • Team player and strong collaborator both within the department, as well as with Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance Office, and Enterprise Information Protection

  • Manage technical relationships with external partners, internal dependent technical partner teams, consuming business owners and own the end-to-end delivery of technical solutions ensuring all parties involved are aligned with the delivery and timelines of the same. 

  • Ability to build strong relationships with business and information technology partners, including communicating complex technology concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Remove blockers and drive delivery of the technical solution for product initiatives. 

  • Lead communications and drive discussions with other Humana teams to achieve product team goals such as Internal Business Leaders and stakeholders for consuming business teams such as CenterWell, Marketing, Digital, Growth, etc. 

  • Ensure the alignment of delivery timelines meets our strategic goals for Preferences and our partners’ strategic goals.

  • Develop subject matter expertise and share your acquired knowledge base with others who need to learn. 

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms, collaboration and team-building skills

  • Strong organizational skills; capable of handling multiple details simultaneously, with ability to move between strategic and tactical work in a dynamic environment with changing processes and priorities.

  • Strong intuition about user experience and what makes a product experience great. Ability to unpack complex, ambiguous problems and ship simple and user-friendly solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and relevant years of experience.

  • 5+ years of technical experience in a Product Owner role.

  • Experience in Health insurance industry (Medicaid, Medicare, Specialty etc.).

  • Experience in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) / PPV (Post Production Validation Testing) scenario creation and data gathering.

  • Progressive strategic and operational experience.

  • Strong performance orientation for delivering high quality technology products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any advanced degree

  • Experience in Data Storage environments such as relational, unstructured, no SQL, or graph databases.

  • Querying experience in SQL or other analytics software knowledge to view / read data sets.

  • Data Governance and/or Data Stewardship experience.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

*This is a remote position. If you reside within commutable distance to our home office in Louisville, Ky, this role may require a hybrid presence.*

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$94,900 - $130,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
