Summary of Position

This position is an individual contributor where, as the Product Owner, you keep the team on track to achieving our release targets defined by the product roadmap. Within the planning and execution of T2’s software releases you will also validate that the delivered software meets the business, market, functional technical requirements.

Product Owners manage and groom the backlog for their respective product. Grooming the backlog means defining the user stories that will fulfill the roadmap and market requirements, prioritizing them, and working with engineering to estimate and schedule the work in sprints. Validating requirements means attending sprint reviews and accepting completed development work and closing out completed stories. You’ll build tight relationships with Engineers, QA testers, and the Product Manager as you become the go-to person for your knowledge and understanding about what the software is supposed to do.

  • Define software requirements in the form of Epics and Stories focusing on the “who, what, and why” so that Engineering can define the “how.”
  • Support the product vision and strategy through product release and Go-to-Market execution.
  • Develop a rich understanding of T2’s products and the parking industry.
  • Prioritize the development backlog to maximize the value delivered, by:
  • Working closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to business value or ROI.
  • Prioritizing and plan sprint efforts based on engineering resources, scope, and overall requirements
  • Writing user stories including detailed requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Conducting user research and be the voice of the user
  • Defining metrics meant to provide feedback on market and user requirements
  • Evaluating and prioritizing feature refinements based on collected user data and feedback
  • Evaluating and prioritizing customer initiated product enhancement requests
  • Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, demonstrations, and sprint reviews
  • Accepting stories after they have met the acceptance criteria
  • Act as the liaison between Product Management and Engineering and QA teams
  • Oversee the development process through sprint planning, user story    refinement, and review of development
  • Evaluate the completed software to make sure that requirements have been met
  • Identify product strengths and weaknesses relative to our competition

Education and Qualifications

  • Experience in software Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analyst or like functions
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university.
  • Familiarity with the Pragmatic Marketing approach to Product Management is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of leading through influence
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English
  • Critical thinking, and the ability to extract relevant information – with an internal drive to prioritize.
  • Experience in releasing “end-to-end” solutions with end-customer interaction in an enterprise deployment
  • Highly refined interpersonal skills and high technical and non-technical professionalism
  • Ability to work without supervision and collaborate with peers and management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships at all levels in the company and with customers.
  • Experience with Scrum Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Availability for 10-20% business travel
