Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will drive profitable sales and market share growth for ELSP Business by developing and executing go-to-market strategies for low voltage air and power circuit breakers. Manage P&L for assigned portfolio, lead marketing and communication initiatives, and enable both sales teams and operations to execute flawlessly. Translate global product strategy into regional market opportunities while building competitive positioning and customer value propositions.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in Cary, NC.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop and Execute Go-to-Market Strategy. Create and implement the US go-to-market product strategy for low voltage air and power circuit breakers, including value proposition definition, product positioning, and annual marketing plans aligned with global strategy.

  • Manage Portfolio Performance. Own P&L for assigned products through master data maintenance, pricing strategy, inventory management, KPI reporting, business cases, and sales/promotion tools; ensure achievement of targets through regular oversight and growth improvement plans.

  • Enable Sales Team Success. Ensure sales teams have the technical and commercial product knowledge needed to execute effectively; oversee preparation of sales materials, guidance, and coordinate cross-team knowledge sharing.

  • Gather and Leverage Market Intelligence. Collect, evaluate, and share customer research, competitive data, voice of customer (VOC), and market trends focused on OEMs, Datacenter and Industrial End Users.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration. Coordinate with operations and cross-division teams on forecasts, production capacity vs lead time, inventory positioning, and execution.

  • Partner with Global Leadership on Product Development. Collaborate with Global Product Managers and R&D to translate local market needs, standards, and trends into new product/feature development; provide the local market insights to reiterate global strategy and drive local product market acceptance.

  • Lead Commercialization and Continuous Improvement. Lead product launches and commercialization programs; drive customer experience improvements through customer visits and insights; report performance metrics and strategic updates to leadership.

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree is required. Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the electrical industry with at least 5 years in Product Management or Product Marketing Management.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership. Comfortable leading and influencing cross-functional teams at a fast pace with multiple competing priorities.

  • Product Marketing & Portfolio Management. Strong skills in go-to-market strategy, positioning & messaging, pricing excellence, and sales enablement.

  • Technical Knowledge. Understanding of power distribution, electrical control systems, and related applications; In depth knowledge of Critical Power applications, especially Datacenter industry required. Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IoT, digital connectivity, and industrial communication protocols preferred.

  • Market Intelligence & Analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate market data into actionable strategies.

  • Customer & Sales Orientation. Demonstrated customer experience success and ability to drive sales through customer-centric approaches.

  • Communication & Presentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present effectively to diverse audiences including senior leadership.

  • Tools & Systems. Strong proficiency with MS Office; experience with CRM and marketing tools a plus

  • Core Competencies. Customer and stakeholder focus, results-oriented, market-driven thinking, systemic thinking, teamwork, and creativity & innovation.

  • Travel up to 25%.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
