The Product Manager executes product strategy, supports sales, provides training, manages product portfolio performance, and drives profitability while collaborating cross-functionally and monitoring market trends.
The Regional Product Manager is the NA business owner for the Handheld portfolio. This role is responsible for executing the product portfolio strategy. The PM will be the voice of the customer and subject matter expert for the category and maintain a pulse on relevant industry and market trends.
What You Need to Know:
- Support the long-term strategy and roadmap execution for the assigned portfolio
- Support the NA Sales organization with product and portfolio knowledge to drive increased sales and profitability
- Provide local training on existing portfolio and new launches
- Introduce and set up new product offers in NA, supporting technical details for sales & training materials, bringing to life the key features and benefits to maximize impact
- Track assigned in-market product portfolio performance (value and volume), with a focus on product cost and overall profitability
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of regional business systems (REX), including article creation, data and pricing
- Provide input on NPD regarding expectations of NA end-customers and channel partners
- Continuously gather competitor intelligence, end-user product feedback and intermediary inputs, and communicate internally to key stakeholders (particularly global CSU teams and local Sales organizations)
- Set and maintain pricing (MSRP) of assigned products annually, or as needed
- Monitor and support cross-channel forecast and delivery of assigned products
- Work cross-functionally to ensure product life-cycle processes are established and documented for clarity on responsibilities and managing transitions
- Strive to achieve an optimized portfolio, including taking necessary actions to consolidate and reduce SKU count and manufacturing complexity
- Responsible for communicating technical information for products (e.g. product spec and feature information, competitive advantage, facilitate testing for marketing claims, etc.).
- Ability to assist with the development and implementation of innovative solutions (products and services) that enhance the end-users experience
- Skilled at building partnerships with the sales organizations to gain alignment, gather market feedback, assess user acceptance and inform product improvements and future projects
- Attend trade shows, end-user prototype testing sessions, and support pilots as needed.
- Employ thought leadership on all product cases both from the customer’s lens and to fulfill and/or enhance the brand promise.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of product management or other relevant experience including marketing, sales, engineering, project management etc.
- Strong track record driving profitable growth through product development in complex, multi-layered (B2B) sales channels
- Familiarity with product development lifecycle process required
- Outdoor power equipment industry experience desirable, but not required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Power Point
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, and travel up to 25% to domestic and international sites.
