Overview:

The Product Manager / Operations Lead will oversee product lifecycle planning, sprint backlog prioritization, and operational delivery for CMS’s API Gateway. This role bridges business and technical teams to ensure product roadmap alignment with CPI stakeholder needs.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage product vision, roadmap, and feature backlog.
  • Prioritize API enhancements based on business value and CPI mission impact.
  • Lead daily operations and coordinate release planning with development teams.
  • Collaborate with CMS stakeholders (UPICs, MACs, law enforcement) for requirement intake.
  • Support transition-in, ongoing O&M, and performance optimization.
  • Report progress using Agile metrics and dashboards (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Power BI).

 

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years in IT product or operations management.
  • Strong understanding of API lifecycle management and integration strategies.
  • Experience supporting CMS CPI or federal healthcare environments.
  • Background in Agile delivery, backlog grooming, and user story management.
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft, AWS, Kafka, and Salesforce preferred.

 

Certifications:

  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner (preferred).
  • Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe, or PMI-ACP).

 

Location: Work will be primarily onsite in Washington, DC, or other designated sites. Remote work requires prior client approval. Local and occasional out-of-area travel may be required.
