Who is Credible?

Credible is a leading U.S. consumer finance marketplace, transforming the way consumers access and compare financial products. We operate at a consumer and enterprise level. On the consumer side, we help millions of people make smarter financial decisions by comparing personalized, pre-qualified offers across student loans, personal loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance — all without impacting their credit score. On the enterprise side, we power financial product comparison and distribution through deep integrations and partnerships with lenders, insurance carriers, and financial institutions, as well as providing marketplace technology and capabilities to third-party partners and distribution channels.

About the Role:

Credible is looking for a Contractor Product Manager to help drive execution across our lending marketplace. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused engagement where you will own features from definition through launch in close collaboration with design, engineering, and data. You will focus on the front-end experience that helps consumers discover and compare options across multiple lenders.

This is a contract role suited to an experienced product manager who can move quickly, operate with minimal ramp-up, and take ownership of well-scoped areas of the product. You bring the rigor to define what should be built, the discipline to prioritize ruthlessly, and the drive to see work through to shipped outcomes.

You will partner with the existing product team to keep roadmaps moving, unblock engineering, and deliver measurable improvements to the funnel. The teams you support will look to you for clear requirements, sound tradeoff decisions, and reliable execution against timelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Own Delivery End-to-End: Take assigned features from definition through launch, writing clear requirements, coordinating across functions, and driving them to completion on schedule.
  • Manage the Roadmap: Help maintain and prioritize the roadmap for your product area by identifying opportunities, weighing tradeoffs, and sequencing work against available engineering resources.
  • Make Data-Driven Decisions: Use data analysis, A/B testing, and user research to validate assumptions, uncover insights, and drive meaningful improvements to the business. Run your own queries and analysis where possible rather than depending on others for every question.
  • Lead and Collaborate Across Functions: Proactively engage engineering, design, data, partnerships, and operations teams to scope solutions, unblock work, and deliver product enhancements against shared goals.
  • Prototype and Validate: Build or coordinate working concepts, test them quickly, and validate ideas with real artifacts before committing significant engineering resources.
  • Operate Responsibly in a Regulated Space: Lending is compliance-constrained. Understand where claims and disclosures matter, where human review is required, and how to move fast without creating regulatory or trust risk.
  • Communicate Clearly: Keep stakeholders informed with concise updates on status, risks, and tradeoffs, and escalate blockers early.
Education and Experience:
  • At least 4 years of experience in a Product Management role for web-based consumer Internet products
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven ability to own features end-to-end and ship on schedule with limited ramp-up
  • Ability to use data, your experience, and product instincts to identify the most impactful areas of focus, including running your own analysis
  • Strong analytical abilities across spreadsheets, SQL, and other analytics tools
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and the willingness to own critical parts of the product end-to-end
  • Technical aptitude sufficient to work closely with engineers, evaluate implementation approaches, and weigh cost and benefit tradeoffs
  • Thrive on collaboration with other teams to accomplish shared goals
  • A bias toward experimentation and the discipline to walk away from an idea when the evidence says so
  • Experience in fintech, lending, or other regulated consumer products is a plus
