Summary of Role
As a Lifecycle PM at Palmetto, you will own the strategy, tooling, and experimentation that make every push, email, in‑app card, and SMS feel like a perfectly‑timed coach’s tip. You will map the end‑to‑end customer journey, build trigger logic and state machines, and leverage large language models (LLMs) to craft dynamic, personalized, and scalable customer communications. Reporting to the VP of Consumer Products, you’ll create internal triggers and habits that lift engagement, retention, and customer happiness.

Strategic & TacticalResponsibilities
  • Journey Design: Map and optimize the entire user lifecycle — from onboarding to engagement and upsell — using state machines and behavioral triggers.
  • Channel Orchestration: Own when, where, and how messages are delivered; balance push, SMS, in‑app, and email to avoid fatigue.
  • Experimentation: Run cohort‑based tests to optimize WAU/MAU, retention curves, NPS, and churn reduction.
  • Internal Trigger Building: Transform external reminders into user habits (e.g., energy‑score streaks, bill‑shock alerts, reward countdowns).
  • Message Creation (LLM‑Driven): Leverage LLMs and similar tools in pipe to line personalize copy across push, email, and in‑app surfaces.
  • Comms Infrastructure: Partner with Data and Engineering to build event pipelines, content APIs, and LLM‑powered personalization engines.
  • Data Analysis: Use tools like Amplitude/Looker to pull and analyze cohort data; translate insights into testable hypotheses.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data to implement messaging hooks and iterate quickly.
Qualifications
  • 4–8+ years of product management experience in consumer apps, ideally owning lifecycle or engagement systems or other relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lift activation, retention, and engagement metrics via journey optimization and experimentation.
  • Proficiency in tools like Customer.io, and Segment for messaging orchestration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect experiment results with outcomes.
  • Systems thinker: able to design state diagrams and trigger logic that scale.
  • Deep familiarity with LLMs for content creation, personalization, and prompt engineering.
  • Excellent written communication; ability to guide tone and style for AI‑generated content.
  • Comfort with low‑code/no‑code solutions (Zapier, Make, Airtable) for rapid prototyping.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
