Job Description:

AssetMark is building an AI Tiger Team to transform how our 1,000+ employees work, driving productivity, scale, and employee experience across our organization. As Product Manager, Internal AI, you will play a key role in this transformation, supporting the strategy, deployment, and impact of AI tools that will reshape how our teams — from investment professionals to engineers — accomplish their work.

The Job/What You'll Do:

This is a hands-on, technical product role where you'll help design and build AI agents, support enterprise AI tools like Slack and desktop AI assistants, and drive adoption across functions. You'll partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities, measure tangible results, and help cultivate a culture of AI-enabled productivity throughout AssetMark.

The ideal candidate is both a technical builder and a strong collaborator—someone who can contribute to building AI agents while also supporting adoption efforts, helping employees become citizen developers solving their own workflow challenges with AI.

We can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Contribute to the product roadmap and execution for AssetMark's internal AI toolkit, including Slack AI, desktop AI assistants, and custom-built AI agents and tools

  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify and prioritize AI opportunities—from operations to investment teams to engineers to corporate functions

  • Support development of product requirements and success metrics for AI initiatives, balancing business impact with technical feasibility

  • Track AI initiatives and support reporting on aggregate impact and resource allocation

Hands-On Development & Implementation

  • Design, build, publish, and manage AI agents and automation tools using modern AI platforms and APIs

  • Partner closely with AI engineers on architecture and execution

  • Develop solutions for business users (operations, investment professionals, corporate functions) and technical teams (engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, QA)

  • Support implementation and management of enterprise AI tools, ensuring strong configuration, integration, and user experience

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Data teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing workflows and systems

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Support development of methodologies to quantify AI impact, tracking metrics including hours saved, cost reductions, quality improvements, and employee satisfaction

  • Help establish baseline measurements and tracking systems for AI initiatives

  • Contribute to dashboards and reporting mechanisms to communicate progress to leadership and stakeholders

  • Assist with ROI analysis to guide prioritization and demonstrate business value

Adoption & Change Management

  • Support organization-wide activation and adoption of AI tools across departments and functions

  • Develop training materials, documentation, and best practice guides tailored to different user personas

  • Partner in managing an "AI Champions" program to drive adoption and gather feedback

  • Help create incentive structures and recognition programs to encourage AI experimentation and citizen development

  • Build and maintain self-service resources enabling employees to solve workflow challenges with AI tools

  • Measure and improve adoption rates, user satisfaction, and capability maturity across teams

  • Ensure employees use AI tools ethically, safely, and responsibly, in adherence with AssetMark’s AI governance framework

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with function leaders to identify pain points and automation opportunities

  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure AI implementations meet enterprise standards

  • Work with HR and Learning & Development on training programs, internal communications, and change management initiatives

  • Engage with vendors and technology partners to evaluate and integrate AI solutions

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Technical hands-on capability: Experience building and deploying AI agents, automation workflows, and integrations using tools like GPT APIs, LangChain, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms

  • Product management foundation: Experience contributing to products from discovery through execution and measurement

  • Data-driven mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience defining metrics and evaluating outcomes

  • Change management capability: Experience supporting adoption of new technologies across teams with varying technical sophistication

  • Communication skills: Ability to explain AI concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

  • Comfort with ambiguity: Able to operate in evolving environments and contribute to building programs from the ground up

  • User empathy: Understanding of diverse user needs across technical and non-technical roles

  • Prioritization skills: Ability to balance near-term wins with longer-term opportunities

Education & Experience:

  • 3–5 years of product management experience, with exposure to AI, automation, or internal tools

  • Hands-on experience building AI applications, agents, or automation workflows

  • Experience supporting technology adoption initiatives in enterprise environments

  • Experience working with both technical teams (engineers, data scientists) and business users

  • Background in financial services, fintech, or wealth management is a plus but not required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
