About the Role:

As a Senior Product Manager, Lending Risk, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding Remitly’s offerings by building innovative credit products for both new and existing customers.  By combining your expertise in fraud prevention, underwriting, and customer-centric design, you will identify opportunities, craft strategies, and launch products that differentiate us in the market, drive growth, and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

You Will:

  • Fraud & Underwriting Ownership: Serve as the primary product manager responsible for managing fraud prevention and underwriting in Lending, ensuring both proactive and reactive strategies are effectively executed to minimize losses and reduce risk.
  • Roadmap Management: Develop and prioritize the fraud prevention and underwriting roadmap for Lending, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.
  • Fraud Rule Automation: Design and implement automated fraud detection rules leveraging existing systems within Remitly to minimize losses and improve efficiency.
  • Manual Exception Handling: Collaborate with the Customer Management team to create processes for handling manual exceptions and addressing complex fraud cases.
  • Daily Fraud Monitoring: Actively oversee day-to-day fraud trends, ensuring timely responses to emerging threats.
  • Corridor/ Scale Decision-Making: Act as one of two key decision-makers responsible for opening and shutting down corridors based on fraud insights and risk evaluation.
  • Vendor Management: Lead vendor evaluation, selection, and management efforts for fraud prevention tools, collaborating closely with Lending and Core Product Managers to integrate solutions effectively.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Gather requirements and define fraud and underwriting rules in partnership with Lending data science, engineering, and analytics teams, ensuring alignment with broader remittances and business objectives.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience.
  • Experience motivating cross-functional teams; across software engineering, UI design, and analytics, with an understanding of how things work within those domains
  • Experience with large-scale web, e-commerce applications/mobile applications
  • Data is the source of your decision-making and you will have experience working with customer data to develop better customer experiences
  • Experience setting and implementing product strategy, road-mapping, and prioritisation
  • Experience working with engineers to make tough technical tradeoffs and you can sweat the details to understand the impacts of these tradeoffs and find a careful balance between short-term outcomes and long-term effects.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $152,000-$171,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
