About Us:

Monarch is a powerful, all-in-one personal finance platform designed to help make the complexity of finances feel simple again. Since launching in 2021, we’ve become the top-recommended personal finance app by users and experts. Our goal? To take the stress out of finances so our members can focus on what truly matters.

We are a team of do-ers led by experienced entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping our members reach their financial goals. We are hyper focused on building a product people love and continuing to evolve based on user feedback.

As a fully remote company (even before COVID!), we welcome applicants from almost anywhere. Our team collaborates synchronously mostly from 9 AM – 2 PM PT and embraces asynchronous work to stay connected across time zones.

Join us on our mission to transform lives by simplifying money, together.

The role:

Monarch is looking for Product Designers (Senior/Staff/Principal) who are passionate about crafting high-quality user experiences and elevating the design of personal finance tools. In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time designing and iterating on new features within the product. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, and have opportunities to contribute strategically to Monarch’s design direction.

As our team grows, we are hiring across multiple pods at Monarch. Here’s some additional information on the pods that need additional support:

  • Aggregation: The Aggregation team owns the experience of connecting banks and financial institutions to Monarch, which allows our users to see your whole financial life in one view.

  • Growth: The Growth team works on building product experiences that help Monarch to reach more users, and to help those users through the path to financial success using Monarch. They work on rapid experimentation, a/b testing, improving our onboarding flow and initiatives around customer engagement and retention.

  • Core Product: The Core Product team is responsible for building and improving our core Monarch features like budgeting, goals, and reports across our web and mobile platforms.

  • Revenue Expansion: Our newest pod at Monarch will focus on identifying and executing ways to augment our product offering at Monarch. Work will involve validating and building out zero-to-one user experiences.

What you'll Do:
  • Design Excellence – Own end-to-end product and visual design, ensuring a high bar for UI/UX through detailed execution in Figma.

  • User Research & Feedback – Occasionally conduct UX research with customers, test prototypes, and refine designs based on insights.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with product and engineering teams to define features, work through technical constraints, iterate on designs, and to ensure seamless handoff and implementation of designs.

  • Strategic Impact – Within your first 90 days, get up to speed with Monarch’s design system, take ownership of new product design projects, and collaborate on UX research when needed.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience: 4+ years in mobile and product design at a consumer-focused company.

  • Design Mastery: Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and a systems-thinking approach.

  • Collaboration: Comfortable working closely with founders, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Innovative Thinking: Experience designing for 0-to-1 projects.

  • Strong experience with Figma (for design and prototyping)

Nice to Have's:
  • HTML, CSS, React – while not required, familiarity with these technologies can help facilitate design collaboration.

Benefits :
  • Work wherever you want! As a fully remote company with no central office, we want you to work wherever you are happiest and most productive. Whether that’s out of your home, a co-working space, or elsewhere.

  • Competitive cash and equity compensation in a hyper growth, early stage company 🚀.

  • Stipend to set-up your ideal working environment.

  • Competitive Benefit Plans for employees based on your location (e.g. in the US we offer: Medical, dental and vision benefits and the ability to contribute to a 401k plan).

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • 3 day weekend every month! We take off the “First Friday” every month to focus on rest, recuperation, or just having fun!

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
