Help Knapsack turn product behavior and business performance data into actionable insight — enabling smarter decisions, faster learning, and clearer execution across teams.

About Knapsack

Knapsack is building the AI Product Engine — a platform that helps teams eliminate the gap between what they design and what they build. We do that by grounding every tool, agent, and workflow in a living, intelligent source of truth.

We integrate structured design systems, development workflows, and LLM-powered assistants to help organizations scale digital product delivery with clarity and confidence.

As we grow, we’re collecting valuable data across tools like Snowflake, Segment, HubSpot, Datadog, Linear, and DoubleLoop. We now need sharper visibility into what that data means, where it signals value or friction, and how it can guide product directionengineering performance, and business execution.

Overview

We’re hiring a Product & Business Operations Analyst to lead the development of our internal insight function. This is a mid-level role for someone with 3–5 years of experience in analytics, product operations, or business intelligence — and a passion for helping teams make smarter, faster decisions.

You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, customer success, sales, and the executive team to help define what we measurewhy it matters, and how we act on it. From user behavior and delivery speed to customer health and company-wide performance rhythms, your work will connect insight to action across Knapsack’s most critical priorities.

This role reports to the Sr. Director of Product, with a dotted line to the Chief Customer Officer.

What we think you’ll focus on

We expect your role to span these three areas, with emphasis shifting as the company grows and based on your strengths

1. Product Insight & Activation

Understand how customers experience the product — and turn that into actionable guidance.

You’ll:

  • Define and track activation, engagement, retention, and feature usage
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to validate roadmap priorities
  • Build dashboards that clarify usage of AI features like the Composition Advisor
  • Conduct deep dives on onboarding friction, successful adoption patterns, and usage trends
2. Data Infrastructure & Reporting

Make sure our data is clean, consistent, and powering decisions across the business.

You’ll:

  • Own instrumentation and data pipelines across Segment, Snowflake, Linear, and other core tools
  • Standardize key metrics and maintain trusted reporting sources
  • Enable reverse ETL flows or other syncs to keep insight actionable (e.g., health scores in HubSpot)
  • Support self-serve data use by building reusable queries and visualizations
3. Business Operations & Cross-Functional Visibility

Support strategic alignment, planning, and decision-making across teams by connecting operational data to business outcomes.

You’ll:

  • Build dashboards for delivery velocity, engineering throughput, and product engagement — and connect them to revenue and customer outcomes
  • Support revenue operations efforts such as pipeline performance tracking, customer health reporting, and lifecycle segmentation using tools like HubSpot and DoubleLoop
  • Contribute to the company’s operating cadence — including OKR tracking, strategic reviews, and exec/board-level reporting
  • Help standardize cross-functional metrics that align Product, Sales, CX, and Engineering around shared goals
  • Create visibility into the metrics that matter most — and maintain clarity as the business scales
What we think you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of experience in analytics, product data, or business intelligence roles
  • Strong SQL fluency and experience working in modern data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Segment or equivalent event tracking pipelines
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Linear, Datadog, and comfort extracting, joining, and analyzing operational data
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex findings to diverse stakeholders (product, eng, exec)
  • Curiosity, independence, and a bias toward insight over reporting
Bonus points for
  • Experience using DoubleLoop, or similar outcome-aligned strategy tools
  • Familiarity with reverse ETL workflows (e.g., syncing insights back into CRMs, Slack, or lifecycle tools)
  • Exposure to dbt-style modeling for reusable product data sets
  • Experience with cohort analysis, funnel diagnostics, lifecycle segmentation
  • Knowledge of delivery metrics (e.g., DORA, cycle time, PR lead time, deployment frequency)
  • Previous work with developer tools, SaaS platforms, or product-led growth environments
  • Experience translating data into strategy in high-ambiguity, early-stage environments
Why this role matters

We already collect rich product and engagement data — but insight without action doesn’t drive outcomes. This role is about creating the connective tissue between what we see and what we do.

You’ll give the team shared visibility, sharpen our instincts, and help make better decisions faster — from roadmap validation and product focus to customer success and operational performance.

Location

Remote-friendly (US-based only). Knapsack is a fully remote company, headquartered in Portland, OR.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000
  • Equity
  • Flexible, remote-first work culture
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance fully covered by the Company
  • A thoughtful, ambitious team building something truly original
