Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
As a Product Compliance Manager you will support compliance strategy and execution for Block's Seller Products-a suite of tools that help small and medium businesses make sales, engage customers, and grow their operations. These products include payment processing, customer loyalty and engagement programs, Cash for Business, Tap to Pay, Cash App Pay, and more. You will partner cross-functionally to embed compliance into the product lifecycle, ensuring our innovative products meet regulatory obligations while enabling business success. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role ideal for a compliance professional who brings both structure and creativity to complex challenges.
You Will
  • Be a dedicated compliance partner for Seller Product teams who are building tools for payments, operations, and business growth.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and contribute to the design of scalable, risk-based controls.
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into operational guidance and product specifications.
  • Identify control gaps and support remediation plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain documentation including risk assessments, control inventories, and implementation requirements.
  • Support governance functions such as testing, issue management, and compliance reviews.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and industry best practices affecting business-facing financial products.

You Have
  • 4+ years of experience in compliance, risk, or product-adjacent roles in fintech, financial services, or regulatory environments.
  • Familiarity with key regulations and frameworks such as AML/BSA, sanctions, consumer protection regulations, PCI, NACHA, and card network rules.
  • A collaborative working style and ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Experience providing support or advice on product launches in a regulated environment
  • Strong writing, documentation, and communication skills.

Even Better
  • CAMS, CRCM, or similar certifications.
  • Experience with small-business-focused platforms and technologies.
  • Exposure to product compliance tooling or automation strategies.
