It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
The Role
The Product Compliance team serves as strategic compliance advisors to the Cash App Product team, partnering with them to define product launch requirements, identify corresponding controls, and provide ongoing compliance support. Product Compliance Managers are key decision-makers on compliance controls and recommendations to Product teams.
We're looking for a Product Compliance Manager to support our Families product-a unique offering that allows teens between 13 and 17 to use Cash App when sponsored by an eligible parent or guardian. The Families product spans a wide range of financial features including peer-to-peer payments, debit cards, direct deposit, bitcoin, and investing. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and can translate emerging risks and principles-especially around teen safety, UDAAP, and consumer protection-into actionable guidance.
You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Legal teams to help shape how we build responsible, protective, and empowering financial experiences for the next generation of Cash App users. While this product does not fall under a well-defined regulatory regime, it requires someone who can operate with strong judgment, build creative yet sound controls, and influence product strategy through a compliance lens.
This role can be remote, based anywhere in the US.
You Will
- Identify, document, and support the design of thoughtful controls, especially as they relate to minors and their parent / guardian sponsors
- Act as a strategic advisor to Product teams by embedding with them and understanding their roadmap, pain points, and vision
- Partner with Product Counsel to understand legal obligations and risk considerations for new features within the Families product
- Apply risk-based, principle-driven compliance guidance in areas where regulation is indirect or evolving (e.g., UDAAP, teen safety, data privacy, reputational risk)
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and remediate gaps in controls
- Stay current on emerging trends in financial products for teens, including new risks, ethical considerations, and industry best practices
- Work with other Compliance partners to identify, document, and develop an inventory of risks and controls for your respective domain
- Review and approve Families-related marketing content and campaigns
You Have
- 6+ years of experience in the compliance industry, ideally in fintech or financial services
- Experience advising on or building controls for consumer-facing products, especially those involving teen or family dynamics
- A strong understanding of UDAAP and consumer protection principles, and familiarity with privacy or child protection / child safety initiatives (e.g., COPPA, NCMEC, the Tech Coalition's Lantern Project)
- Excellent judgment and the ability to create compliant solutions for novel and innovative products
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and gain support around compliance goals
- A passion for building inclusive, trustworthy, and responsible financial tools for the next generation
