Our intelligent, cloud identity platform lets people shop, work, bank, and interact wherever and however they want. Without friction. Without fear.

While protecting digital identities is at the core of our technology, protecting individual identities is at the core of our culture. We champion every identity. One of our core values, Respect Individuality, reminds us to celebrate differences so you are empowered to bring your authentic self to work.

We're headquartered in Denver, Colorado and we have offices and employees around the globe. We serve the largest, most demanding enterprises worldwide, including more than half of the Fortune 100. At Ping Identity, we're changing the way people and businesses think about cybersecurity, digital experiences, and identity and access management.

You will help develop and effectuate strategies and initiatives that focus on building a scalable privacy program. Success in this role requires cross functional collaboration, a willingness to embrace tactical details without missing strategic priorities, and skill in distilling complex legal concepts into simple, actionable business advice.

Ping Identity fosters a collaborative, innovative, and positive culture. We are looking for a strategic, business-minded, and solutions-oriented attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role reports directly to the VP, Associate General Counsel.

You will:

  • Monitor and assess emerging global privacy and AI laws and regulations, evaluating their impact on Ping Identity’s business. Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Advise on AI governance and risk management, ensuring responsible development, deployment, and use of AI across the organization. Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize AI risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide legal guidance on privacy impact assessments (PIAs), records of processing activities (ROPAs), and transfer impact assessments (TIAs), collaborating with the Privacy Operations team to ensure compliance with global regulations.
  • Support the commercial legal team by supporting non-standard customer requests related to privacy and AI governance provisions. Assist in developing and refining contractual templates and playbook for data protection and AI governance.
  • Support the incident response team by investigating potential privacy incidents, implementing corrective actions, and mitigating future risks.

You have:

  • 3-5 years of legal experience in-house at a multinational corporation and/or at a major law firm, with a strong focus on global privacy laws and compliance.
  • Law degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar, eligible to practice as an in-house corporate attorney.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy frameworks and emerging AI regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and regulatory concepts to business and technical teams in a clear, practical manner.
  • A high degree of accountability and ownership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving regulatory and business landscape.
  • Confidence to work independently, but strong judgment to escalate issues when necessary.

Bonus points if you have:

  • A CIPP/US, CIPP/E or AIGP certification.
  • Familiarity with sector-specific privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, DORA) and their application in a corporate environment.
  • Strong legal transactional skills and experience negotiating, drafting, analyzing, and interpreting a wide range of contracts (e.g., SaaS, IP, and data licensing).

Salary Range: $153,000 - $184,000

In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
