We’re looking for a Principal Digital Product Designer to shape transformative digital experiences for healthcare professionals and patients across our commercial portfolio. In this role, you’ll bring deep UX expertise and a sharp visual sensibility to the forefront of complex digital product initiatives. Working closely with cross-functional partners—including product managers, engineers, and medical affairs—you’ll help define and deliver best-in-class user experiences that are intuitive, scalable, and aligned to business and user needs.

This role will join a team of experts building a world class commercial pharma brand experience. Your role may operate individually or alongside a mid-level UI designer, allowing you to focus on driving user research, information architecture, interaction models, and design systems thinking, while also guiding high-quality visual outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute with visual excellence—Define the mood, tone, look, and feel of future products and services, and translate this vision into high-fidelity design prototypes and engaging visual assets with little supervision and oversight.
  • Elevate our visual standards—Maintain and refine our design language across a wide range of projects, from consumer apps to immersive patient journey storytelling.
  • Enhance usability & engagement—Translate complex requirements into clear user journeys, flows, and interfaces
  • Apply systems thinking—Ensure new features scale effectively and align to our design system, accessibility guidelines, and platform constraints
  • Mentor & inspire—Provide thoughtful direction, critique, and mentorship to other designers, ensuring elegance and innovation in all aspects of our work.
  • Champion design craft—Bring a deep knowledge of typography, color, grid systems, motion, and visual hierarchy to create pixel-perfect, polished digital experiences.
  • Drive strategic impact—Contribute thought leadership to ensure our design practice remains at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Communicate & collaborate—Present design rationale persuasively across teams, stakeholders, and leadership, translating complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in visual design, UI design, or digital product design, with experience working in an agile or digital product development environment.
    • A stellar portfolio showcasing best-in-class design work across interface and screen-based experiences, demonstrating mastery of typography, grid, layout, and color theory.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital B2C commercial executions
  • Strong experience in designing for digital products (web, mobile, and beyond), with a focus on scalable design systems and component-based workflows.
  • Track record of shipping high-impact digital experiences with proven expertise in balancing business, brand, and user needs.
  • Excellent communication skills—You can articulate complex design concepts in a clear, concise, and inspiring way.
  • Strong collaboration mindset—You enjoy working cross-functionally and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Creative leadership experience—Mentorship, critique, and a passion for elevating design teams.
  • Exposure to motion design, micro-interactions, or front-end development principles
  • Experience with mobile user experience and mobile application design patterns
  • Preferred but not required - History leading design teams in healthcare, pharmaceuticals or other highly regulated industries.
  • Preferred but not required - Understanding of contemporary development processes and familiarity with the possibilities and deployment of modern front-end libraries and frameworks.
