Network Principal Technical Consultant

 

A Principal Technical Consultant is a distinguished professional who provides expert guidance and support in technical matters to clients. A PTC must possess a deep understanding of best-in-breed network and network security technologies, along with extensive experience in implementing and managing complex technical solutions. In addition, principal technical consultants will be responsible for advising on best practices, evaluating new technologies, and providing training and mentorship to junior staff members.

 

The Principal Technical Consultant leads delivery engagements and cross-functional technical teams on customer programs or projects. When the PTC is designated the engagement lead, they will combine with PMO leadership to form the “Two in the Box” model, a vital approach to driving successful project outcomes.

PTC are responsible for the development of high-quality polished project deliverables such as white papers, plans, strategies, designs, assessments, and business case analyses. Deliverables should have one cohesive look and feel when delivered to the client, regardless of the contributors.  

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams to deploy solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, VMWare, AWS and Azure platforms
  • Lead complex programs of multiple resources
  • Lead the architecture and design of complex solutions
  • Escalation point for project team
  • Maintain expert level certifications
  • Participate in pre-sales cycle as technical expert
  • Provide thought leadership to Ahead and our customers
  • Communicate with external customers, which may include top management, on matters that require explanation, interpretation, and / or advising
  • Generate differentiated marketing thought leadership for marketing
  • Craft innovative and high impact solutions for complex client programs, relying on large teams to implement
  • Contribute to projects/programs that may address future concepts, products, and technologies
  • Drive consensus with customer in solving complex solutions
  • They play a crucial role in helping clients leverage technology to achieve their strategic goals and stay competitive in their respective markets.

Qualifications

  • Technical Excellence & Evangelism. Maintain a high level of technical excellence and evangelism across multiple relevant solution architecture and product areas. Lead the curation and delivery of relevant technical knowledge, presentations, and conversations at all client levels and customer related events. Actively participate in technical champion programs and communities. Attain certifications when appropriate. Learn, discuss and present new and emerging technical and IT related topics.
  • Leadership & Direction. Must be capable of supervising and leading technical teams through delivery of complex projects. Team members may be of varying technical levels, cross-practice, and different cultures.
  • Be a recognized expert by significant career experience in enterprise IT leadership or by demonstrated technical/professional services expertise in one or more technology practices.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
