About the Role

A Principal Technical Consultant is a member of Workday’s Global Professional Services organization dedicated to the implementation of our cloud-based software within the US Federal Government industry. We help customers make the most of the Workday platform!
The US Federal Technical Consulting team is responsible for the Data Conversion, Integration, and Reporting workstreams on Workday implementation projects. As a diverse group driven by a passion for the success of our customers, we provide leadership and technical expertise to efficiently guide customers through their deployments. It’s an exciting, fast-paced, and rewarding work environment!

The Principal Technical Consultant works closely with the client’s project team to design, develop, and deploy a customer’s integration solutions. They will also work with Workday Deployment Partners in an Advisory capacity on Partner led deployments.  The Principal Technical Consultant has knowledge of core design principles, common integration patterns, project implementation methodology, and a successful track record of delivering.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead and project manage integration workstream(s), hitting delivery dates and driving results

  • Become an expert on the US Federal specific Workday functionality, configuration, and technology

  • Conduct discovery sessions to develop and document a thorough understanding of customers’ integration needs

  • Design and implement integrations to address complex customer and vendor requirements

  • Assist customers in testing integrations and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to ensure post-production success

  • Engage with other members of the US Federal consulting team and Workday Solutions Enablement to identify areas for improvement and lead internal initiatives.

We look for team members who will suggest creative and new ways to develop and deliver technical solutions. You should be an innovative self-starter who can drive ideas from concept through implementation.

Basic Qualifications: Principal Technical Consultant (P5)

  • 6+ years of Human Resources, Payroll, Financials, Integrations, or Reporting domain experience in a US Federal government setting AND 6+ years of experience in a technical role

Basic Qualifications: Sr Technical Consultant (P4)

  • 4+ years of Human Resources, Payroll, Financials, Integrations, or Reporting domain experience in a US Federal government setting AND 4+ years of experience in a technical role

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting the fun and diverse workplace that is part of Workday’s VIBE culture

  • Experience taking a leadership role within a software, system, or application implementation

  • Advanced skills to design, develop, and deploy integration solutions for customers

  • Advanced understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and move to production

  • Advanced skills with Workday integration technologies such as Workday Studio and Orchestrate

  • Active Workday Implementer Certification or Workday PRO Certification

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Primary Location Base Pay Range: $147,400 USD - $221,100 USD based on min and max pay range.

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $133,300 to $236,800 USD

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. If performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $140,400 - $210,500 USD based on min and max pay range for that role if performed in CO.
