The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking Systems Engineer to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Plan and support he core functions and ensure the project team has qualified staff to execute the program core functions.
  • Support close out program reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, Etc.
  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
  • Manage the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle.
  • Oversee configuration management of the overall Program Baseline
  • Serve as the Logistics and Supportability Interface ensuring that all applicable specialty engineering disciplines horizontally integrate across applicable phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Collect, manage, and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
  • Manage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule.
  • Oversee the establishment and execution of the program lifecycle and work products.
  • Support the transition of the project to the operations, maintenance, and sustainment stakeholders.
  • Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.
  • Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives.

This position is contingent upon clearance.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

This position can be filled at the Principal Superconducting Electronics Design Engineer OR the Sr. Principal Superconducting Electronics Design Engineer. Qualifications for both are listed below.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
  • Demonstrated Experience working with CAMEO.
  • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
  • Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test.
  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance business requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
  • Demonstrated Experience working with CAMEO.
  • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
  • Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test.
  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Demonstrated Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle, Focus on SRR to CDR.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.
  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).
  • Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.Experience managing contracts of $10M+

Salary Range: $102,400.00 - $160,900.00Salary Range 2: $127,000.00 - $199,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
