The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services:
RTX has an opening for a Principal Specialist, Cloud Engineer (Principal Specialist, Business Systems and Transformation) role.
Exciting Opportunity!
- Provide services for infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and general IT support to enable the Enterprise Services SIOP application suite.
- Participate in support, planning, definition of best practices, and collaborative meetings in support of these goals.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure in the cloud (Azure & AWS) environments. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management; storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; software and license configuration.
What You Will Do:
- Work with a small team on cloud projects and system support.
- Deliver practical solutions to complex problems.
- Design and support new and existing cloud applications infrastructure.
- Overseeing cloud operations and designing infrastructure for new workloads
- Continuously improving and maturing cloud services
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environment.
- Working in both cloud (Azure & AWS) and on-prem environments.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including best practices, procedures, and policies.
- Work effectively in a geographically distributed team environment.
- Engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Work independently with users to define concepts
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Azure and AWS environment and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent combination of schooling in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience in deploying and managing cloud-based solutions on Azure and/or AWS, including expertise in administering both Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Possess a robust understanding of computers, networks, servers, storage, and databases, along with experience in server architecture and troubleshooting methodologies.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Capable of developing solutions and documenting various technical issues.
- Proficient with technologies such as Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, and possesses prior experience in systems and networking administration beyond basic account maintenance.
- Demonstrates strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform/HCL) for automating tasks and developing custom scripts to optimize Azure infrastructure management and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Microsoft Azure certification(s).
- Knowledge of SIOP Rapid Response.
- Ability to support 24x7 operations beyond standard work hours.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
