We’re looking for a Tech Lead / Architect to help shape the next phase of Growth Studio, Unanet’s AI-first growth platform for Government Contractors (GovCon). Growth Studio centralizes pipeline, people, and opportunity data, helps teams identify and qualify opportunities faster, and accelerates capture and proposal workflows through AI-powered insights and automation.
This role is a strong fit for an experienced technical leader who enjoys defining architecture, guiding implementation across teams, and solving complex product and platform problems in a fast-moving environment. The right candidate will help establish the technical direction for Growth Studio as it scales across AI-enabled workflows, integrations, data pipelines, and customer-facing product experiences.
Why This JobThis is a unique opportunity to help shape a fast-moving, AI-first product with meaningful market potential. You’ll work in an entrepreneurial environment with significant autonomy, challenging technical problems, and the opportunity to influence both product direction and engineering execution in a visible way.
What You’ll Do- Lead architecture and technical decision-making across Growth Studio teams, with responsibility for the overall technical architecture and long-term design direction of the product
- Define scalable patterns for services, APIs, data flows, integrations, and AI-enabled workflows that support Growth Studio’s capture, qualification, and proposal use cases
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, UX Design, QA, and Ops to translate business goals into practical technical roadmaps and implementation plans
- Architect elegant solutions to complex, open-ended problems, especially where customer workflows, data quality, speed, and AI outcomes intersect
- Guide the design of integrations with adjacent systems and data sources, including internal and external platforms that support Growth Studio workflows
- Establish and reinforce best practices for software design, secure coding, observability, performance, and maintainability across the product
- Perform architecture and code reviews, provide clear technical feedback, and raise the bar for quality across teams
- Lead proofs of concept and technical spikes to validate solution approaches early and reduce delivery risk
- Mentor Engineers on system design, tradeoff analysis, technical communication, and architectural thinking
- Create technical documentation, diagrams, and decision records that improve cross-team alignment and execution clarity
- Help the organization make thoughtful use of AI technologies in the product and, where appropriate, in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Occasionally engage with customer-facing teams or customers when deeper technical context is needed to support product direction or to resolve complex issues
In the first few weeks, you’ll immerse yourself in the Growth Studio product vision, architecture, roadmap, and delivery model, while building relationships across Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations.
In the first month, you’ll review the current system design, identify key architectural gaps or risks, and begin shaping the technical priorities for upcoming releases.
In month two, you’ll be leading design reviews, influencing cross-team implementation decisions, and helping teams move through complex platform and product work with clearer architectural guidance.
By the end of 90 days, you’ll be independently driving important technical outcomes for Growth Studio, including architecture direction for one or more major initiatives tied to scale, integration, AI capability, or platform quality.
Who You Are- 8+ years of experience building and evolving complex software products, with significant experience in technical leadership, solution design, or architecture
- Comfortable working across a modern application stack, with experience in JavaScript or TypeScript-based systems and supporting backend infrastructure
- Strong experience with modern web app architecture, backend services, APIs, and distributed or event-driven systems
- Experience designing systems that balance product velocity with reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
- Experience with AI-enabled product capabilities, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, embeddings, or related technologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to work effectively in a high-ownership environment where ambiguity is real and strong judgment matters
- Passionate about building products that help customers move faster and win more in the GovCon space
- Experience architecting AI-first or data-rich SaaS products in a high-growth environment
- Infrastructure literacy spanning cloud platforms, networking, containers, or adjacent operational concerns
- Experience building systems that ingest and unify multiple data sources into a single user workflow or system of record
- Experience building agents or automation that improve product capabilities or engineering effectiveness
- A strong instinct for when to standardize, when to iterate, and how to help teams move quickly without compromising design quality
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science
