About the Role:

ZoomInfo is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join our Data Processing team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing large-scale, distributed data processing pipelines that power ZoomInfo's go-to-market platform. You will focus on scalability, reliability, and performance for hundreds of concurrent jobs while leading efforts to expand the data processing platform across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to have a company-wide impact and drive ZoomInfo's evolution from a data company to a true platform company.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing pipelines using technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Beam, and Airflow

- Optimize data processing systems for high concurrency and large datasets

- Implement observability, reliability, and performance improvements for data processing pipelines

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with ZoomInfo's platform-first strategy

- Mentor junior engineers and promote data best practices

- Lead the transformation of the data processing solution into a comprehensive data engineering platform that can be leveraged throughout the entire engineering organization

Requirements:

- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering roles

- Extensive experience building and scaling distributed data processing pipelines using technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Beam, and Airflow

- Strong expertise in cloud-native environments (GCP or AWS)

- Proven track record of designing platform-level solutions that serve multiple applications and teams

- Experience with API-first development, event-driven architectures, and cross-team collaboration

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

- Leadership experience in guiding technical transformation from application-centric to platform-first approaches

- Demonstrated success in inner-sourcing technical platforms within large engineering organizations

- Experience with evangelizing adoption and training other teams on platform usage
