If you’re driven by purpose, thrive on solving complex challenges, and want to be part of the team that’s helping to secure the AI age, we invite you to bring your talents to Zscaler and help shape the future of cybersecurity.

Role

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our team in a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA, reporting directly to the Vice President, Product Management. In this cross-functional role, you will act as the connective tissue across our product portfolio, driving the strategy and execution of a foundational provisioning automation and metering service. This API-first engine will establish a highly scalable, declarative model across our platform. By delivering hyperscaler - grade observability and self-service, you will unlock massive scale—transforming how we onboard customers & partners, while serving as the backbone for Zscaler’s go-to-market strategy.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

  • Define the product strategy and execution for the new provisioning and metering service
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product PM engineering teams, ensuring they can seamlessly integrate their products into a unified, API-first declarative model
  • Design robust observability, metering, and auditing capabilities that form the bedrock for order processing, contract-based subscription management, and friction-free customer onboarding

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance but as the raw material to build something meaningful
  • You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action, and you navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution
  • You are a problem-solver. You seek out challenges because you are energized by finding solutions, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact
  • You are customer-obsessed. You build deep empathy for the customer and anchor your decisions in solving their real-world problems
  • You are data-driven. You use data and analytics to find the truth, measure what matters, and guide informed decisions

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of product management experience with deep expertise in observability, automation
  • Demonstrated deep experience and comprehensive market knowledge in automation & APIs
  • Track record of building effective cross-functional relationships, specifically with engineering teams
  • Experience working directly with customers on security feature requirements and feedback
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Direct experience working at or closely with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI), with a deep understanding of their provisioning, marketplace, and metering models.
  • Experience in launching new products from the incubation stage
