Yahoo Sports is one of the internet’s leading destinations for comprehensive sports news and innovative fantasy games. We produce insightful content across multiple platforms and curate quality coverage from around the web to inform and entertain fans. We're an original fantasy sports pioneer, with a legacy of innovation that helps us continue to be a fantasy leader. And as one of the most-visited sports platforms on the internet, we're one of the best places for brands to reach fans.

A Little About Us

We are sports fans. We love our teams (and our fantasy teams). We love our code, our data, our products, and our people. We are relentless about improving our products to make them the best place for die-hard sports fans to follow, analyze, and talk about the sports they love. We are looking for someone who shares our values to join our team and make us even better.

We’re building the infrastructure that powers the Yahoo Sports website and app experience—from live scores and stats to personalized news alerts and real-time game updates. Our core data platform is the beating heart of the sports product, and we’re looking for a product leader who’s excited to scale it.

The right candidate will blend technical depth with product strategy. You know how to build systems for reliability, performance, and flexibility, and you understand how those systems translate to real user value. You’ll work across engineering, programming, and product design to evolve how Yahoo Sports delivers real-time data to millions of fans every day.

The Role

As a Technical Product Manager for the Core Sports Data Platform, you’ll own the systems and APIs that provide scores, schedules, standings, stats, and structured event data to every Yahoo Sports surface. Your customers are both internal and external: front-end product teams, editorial tools, monetization teams, and most importantly—sports fans themselves.

  • Own the end-to-end data strategy—from integrating new sports data feeds to delivering reliable, performant access across products and APIs.

  • Define and drive the roadmap for internal tools and self-service platforms, enabling engineering, editorial, and marketing teams to leverage sports data effectively.

  • Lead seasonal and event-based operations, ensuring data and product readiness for major sports moments and seasonal transitions across our product suite in a unified way.

  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to productize advanced stats, predictive models, and personalized insights.

  • Drive cross-functional planning and execution, aligning engineering, content, and product teams on priorities and delivery timelines.

  • Ensure data excellence across quality, governance, and performance by implementing robust validation frameworks, maintaining clear documentation and standards, and resolving delivery bottlenecks at scale.

  • Benchmark competitors and surface insights to inform our data strategy and feature innovation.
