Role Definition
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Product Manager to lead our Identity and Access Management (IAM) product portfolio within Cat Digital. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of our IAM products, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers and align with our business goals.
What you will do:
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for IAM products, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the IAM space.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure our IAM products address their pain points and deliver value.
  • Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the development and release of new features and enhancements.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of IAM products and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate product plans, progress, and results to stakeholders, including executives, sales, marketing, and customer support teams.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices in IAM and related technologies.

What you will have:
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.\

Consideration for top candidates:
  • Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of IAM technologies, protocols, and standards is crucial. This includes knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity federation, and directory services. Domain knowledge and experience with Oauth2, OIDC (OpenID Connect), Microsoft Entra/B2C, and role based access control (RBAC).
  • Product Management: Strong skills in product strategy, roadmap planning, and execution. The ability to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and delivering results. Experience in managing and mentoring other product managers is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in using data analytics tools to track performance metrics and measure the success of IAM products.
  • Customer Focus: Passion for understanding customer needs and delivering products that exceed their expectations. Experience in engaging with customers to gather feedback and address their pain points.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for IAM products, aligning with Cat Digital's overall goals and objectives.

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, or Irving, TX (Dallas) offices.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $235,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
