We're a venture studio dedicated to conceiving, building, and scaling companies at the intersection of real estate, finance, and technology. Founded by serial entrepreneurs who have built unicorn real estate tech companies from the ground up, we’re a team of expert operators with decades of experience turning ideas into thriving products, teams, and businesses.

Our mission is simple: solve meaningful customer and business problems, design strong and defensible business models, activate growth engines, and hire world-class founding teams who can thrive—without wasting time on corporate bureaucracy. Each year, we launch 2–4 new startups, supercharging founders with our dedicated capital, experienced team, proven processes, and deep strategic network.

Our team is distributed and works remotely, coming together in person every few months to collaborate and connect.

Position Overview
We’re looking for a well-rounded, hands-on, and collaborative product designer to join our studio team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in understanding and championing user needs, shaping product design vision and strategy, creating high-quality, user-centric experiences, and evolving brand identities and design systems.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of designing and launching products users love, excels at working with complex systems in the absence of established patterns, and thrives in early-stage product and company development. Experience with B2B software and generative AI-powered products is a strong plus.

This is a unique opportunity for a designer who is passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences from scratch, especially in the “0–1” phase of product development. You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team of seasoned builders who are deeply committed to their craft and to supporting each other.

Joining us also means sharing in the equity of the startups we create. This structure offers the potential for substantial upside while diversifying risk—ensuring you benefit from the success of all the companies you help build during your time here.

Key Responsibilities
First, some context
In this role you’ll spend most of your time leading design for one of our startups at a time. Our team works hands-on, side-by-side with our startup CEOs during the first 6–9 months of a company’s life. As the startup approaches product-market fit, we shift into a supporting role—helping the founder/CEO build their full-time team and secure their first round of outside funding. Once they’re ready to fly solo, we step back and move on to the next exciting venture. Typically, you’ll work on 1–2 startups per year.

Beyond direct company work, you’ll have space to focus on your own growth and craft development. You’ll also help us refine our playbooks, tools, and internal processes to make what we do even more repeatable and scalable.

While we’ve outlined responsibilities below, we pride ourselves on being highly collaborative and flexible. This means that in practice you’ll work closely with startup CEOs and your teammates across discovery, product, engineering, and marketing.

User Research & Discovery
Conduct and analyze user interviews, surveys, and usability studies to gather actionable insights.
Identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in both current and future experiences.
Clearly articulate user needs to inform team-wide product and design decisions.
Develop user personas and journey maps to guide and refine the design process.

UX Design & Prototyping
Define and communicate the product design vision and architecture.
Create intuitive, user-centric, and technically implementable flows and interfaces, addressing all aspects of the user experience—from overarching user journeys to micro-interactions.
Design and develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile platforms.

UI Design & Branding
Establish the company’s initial brand identity, including logo design and foundational visual elements.
Design visually cohesive and compelling user interfaces, ensuring consistency across platforms, products, and channels.

Build and maintain style guides, design systems, and UI libraries.
Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, including product interfaces, splash pages, slide decks, and social media graphics.

Recruiting Support
Help our startup CEO determine the ideal profile for their first in-house design hire, and participate (with outside recruiters and our team) in the sourcing and recruiting process

Continuous Learning
Stay current with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to refine your craft and expand your toolkit.

Qualifications
7+ years of experience in dynamic, intensive environments focused on product design and delivering quality user experiences, with a meaningful portion of this experience focused on B2B SaaS and/or AI-infused products.
Proven ability to design and improve products using genuine user feedback and data insights. Strong experience engaging with real users to achieve measurable product success.

Portfolio Required: Be prepared to showcase examples of visual design craft, complex systems thinking, and user-centric approaches to launching and iterating products that users love.
Demonstrated 0–1 experience in building new products, even within larger organizations.
Passion for startups and entrepreneurial environments.

Personal Qualities
First Principles Approach: Solve complex design problems using a first principles mindset, creating effective designs even in contexts without established patterns.
Agility & Poise: Deliver high-caliber work swiftly in an agile startup environment, staying composed while “hacking through the jungle” to find product-market fit.
Insatiable Curiosity & Continuous Learning: Constantly improve design skills, actively pursue learning, and engage in exploratory projects.
Team-Centric Mindset: Collaborate effectively within multifunctional teams, focusing on collective triumph and goals over individual achievements.

Comp, Benefits, and Location
We’re well-funded by a network of leading investors and offer competitive cash compensation in addition to equity in our portfolio of startups, along with comprehensive benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, generous paid time off/sick leave, and a 401(k) plan.

The majority of our team is based in Boston, with others located in New York, Maine, Utah, Colorado and California. We work remotely, and come together in person for team-building and collaborative work roughly once a quarter. While we prefer candidates based in Boston, we are open to applicants from other locations, as our primary goal is to find the best person for the role.
