We are looking for a Principal Product Designer, to join the AI Design team at Atlassian as the first mobile designer. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, AI, you'll work on flagship AI experiences. In doing so you will partner with teams across Atlassian. Our team is primarily based in Australia and the west coast of North America.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $216,900 - $283,175
Zone B: $195,300 - $254,975
Zone C: $180,900 - $236,175
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Your future team
We are looking for a Principal Product Designer, to join the AI Design team at Atlassian as the first mobile designer. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, AI, you'll work on flagship AI experiences. In doing so you will partner with teams across Atlassian. What you'll do:
- Scale flagship AI experiences of Rovo while defining the visual and system language of Rovo's design.
- Be the mobile craft expert that can help raise the bar across interaction, visual and system design
- Balance leadership and hands-on execution by driving your own strategic initiatives while mentoring and coaching other team members to deliver high-quality designs.
- Be the example of designing AI with AI and enable the design organization on harnessing the power of AI for ourselves
- Partner with leadership, stakeholders, cross-functional teams to create a unified view of AI capabilities across Atlassian
- Collaborate with some of the industry's smartest (and nicest) people. You'll work with Engineers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Researchers, Marketing Experts, and Analysts to advocate for the user experience in our products and ship high-quality work
Your background
- 12+ years of product design experience designing complex or enterprise-level app with a strong focus on native mobile (iOS and Android) and a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of high-impact mobile products
- Deep expertise in interaction and visual design for mobile, with mastery of mobile design patterns, accessibility, and platform conventions
- Experience building and evolving design systems for mobile at scale
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills; able to influence and align stakeholders at all levels
- Previous experience in applied AI on product experiences such as Search, AI Chat, and Agents
- Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility
- Craft and systems thinker-you can demonstrate the ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions that lead company wide outcomes
- Experience improving process and methodology to increase product value, team velocity and accelerate adoption of new capabilities
