Defines and develops material strategy. Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products. Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management. Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements. Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs. Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Creates/releases requisitions. Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements. This position will be worked at our facility in Buffalo, NY and can be hired at a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (03): 

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of supply chain, general business, finance, or sales experience or master’s degree with 4+ years of supply chain, general business, finance, or sales experience ; will consider 4+ years of experience in supply chain, general business, finance, or sales (10+ years) in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in a manufacturing and/or repair depot environment 
  • (US Citizenship is required.)
  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations
  • Experience purchasing material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CAM experience and certification
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain process strongly preferred
  • Financial background in financial executions - Earned Value Management, Return To Greens, Material Forecasting and Variance Analysis
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience in proposal roles and responsibilities
  • Experience in SAP (MES) (or related) 
  • Experience working with radar related technologies
  • Material management experience
  • Experience with cost, schedule, variance reporting
  • People leadership and familiarity with DOD Operations

Salary Range: $80,600.00 - $121,000.00Salary Range 2: $99,900.00 - $149,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
