The Team

The FIFT organization crafts all the technology systems used in Fixed Income for the Bond and Money Market product areas. FIFT also handles common trading services and systems used for Finance and Fund Oversight. The applications and services we provide enable investment decision making, portfolio management, and trading for combined assets under management of nearly $2 trillion. Through our Agile practices, we have developed an operating rhythm that ensures we are consistently delivering the highest value work for our customers and partners. We work on a wide variety of technologies including AWS, Angular, Java, Python, REST/API, PL/SQL, HTML and Kafka.

We are seeking a Principal Full-Stack Software Engineer to be part of our team supporting our bond portfolio management and trading products. As a member of this team, you will partner closely with our investment team on the Fixed Income trading floor, and interact directly with quant analysts, portfolio managers, traders and portfolio and research analysts to build new and innovative tools that will support and improve our investment processes.

The Expertise You Have

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering; 2+ years of experience as a technical lead
  • Proven experience in a full stack software development environment
  • Understanding of and experience within an Agile/Scrum framework preferred

The Skills You Bring

  • Experience as a technical lead supporting multiple teams, providing guidance and oversight for junior engineers; Partnering with Architecture, Data Services, Cloud Platform Teams, etc. to propose, design, develop and implement solutions
  • Experience with UI tech stack/Single Page Applications : HTML, JavaScript and Angular
  • Experience in Micro Frontend architecture, including modular design, independent deployment strategies
  • Comfortable with a broad set of technologies including deep knowledge of middleware Java stack, Spring framework, Oracle, messaging technologies (EMS or KAFKA) RESTful APIs and web containers
  • Possess full-stack software development knowledge and critical thinking skills to craft end-to-end solutions
  • A passion to learn new things, including the Asset Management and Fixed Income investment domains
  • You are self-motivated, driven, and have a strong client focus and results-orientated approach
  • Comfortable developing Angular based user interfaces and Java based middle tier services
  • Familiarity with developing and running software on cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services

  • Help our investment teams evolve their investment processes, to meet both short-term needs and long-term trends, through the use of technology
  • You will collaborate with Architecture, Data Services and other Technology Teams to improve the performance and scalability of our applications and workflows
  • Provide outstanding support, including rotational on-call support
