Yahoo is seeking a talented Principal Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and design systems implementation. In this role, you'll build, optimize, and maintain robust, scalable web-based interface components, translating sophisticated Figma designs into elegant, production-ready user interfaces. Your commitment to visual consistency, accessibility, and performance will significantly enhance user experience across our platforms.
Primary Focus:
Developing and maintaining high-quality, reusable UI components and front-end systems.
Implementing a consistent, visually appealing, and accessible user experience leveraging our core design system.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and refine reusable UI components using React and TypeScript.
Accurately translate detailed Figma designs into responsive, production-quality front-end code.
Ensure accessibility standards, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility across all UI components and pages.
Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to uphold visual consistency and UX excellence.
Proactively identify and resolve front-end performance bottlenecks, optimizing for speed and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive front-end engineering experience with React.js and TypeScript.
Proven ability to translate design specifications (Figma or similar tools) into functional, pixel-perfect front-end implementations.
Deep understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG), responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
Experience optimizing front-end performance, including familiarity with techniques for improving load times and rendering efficiency.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure consistent user experiences.

Exceptional expertise in front-end styling, system patterns, tokens, and detailed interaction fidelity.
Strong visual design instincts and attention to UI quality, precision, and scalability.
Proven ability to systematically approach UI-layer architecture and optimization.

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
