The Principal Engineer is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Begins to influence the department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Write effective REST APIs and technical documentation

  • Build single-page applications using Angular.

  • Design and build database objects

  • Work with a team of developers with deep experience in frontend technologies, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems

  • Work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

  • Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages.

  • Maintain modern development standards with best-practice approaches and development processes

  • Technology: .Net Core 6, C#, Angular 8+, AWS Cloud, REST API, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Tableau, ELK, MuleSoft, Confluent Kafka

  • Support existing client reporting applications

  • Support modernization for client reporting applications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS.

  • 10+ years of Senior Developer experience in designing and implementing complex systems, including developing solutions from scratch

  • 10+ years of Full-stack developer experience designing applications in Angular, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs

  • 10+ years of extensive web/service development experience with the following technologies: .NET, C#, SQL server, Node, MVC, NuGet, JavaScript/jQuery, HMTL, CSS

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with object-oriented concepts and design patterns

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Motivated and driven by achieving long-term business outcomes

  • Capable of effectively planning, prioritizing and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools

Preferences:

  • Experience working with source control tools like TFS, GIT etc.

  • Work with cloud-native stack, build on AWS, use technologies like Kubernetes

  • Write automated test cases to ensure the correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency of the software product

  • Good Understanding of Document Object Model (DOM) and DOM Functions.

  • Experience with DevOps, including source control, release management, and continuous integration


 

Pay Range:

$155,288-$258,813/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
