About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal SaaS AI Architect to provide architectural leadership across a diverse set of Software as a Service platforms within the Enterprise Functions Technology organization.
As AI capabilities become an increasingly important part of SaaS products, this role will be at the center of how those capabilities are thoughtfully designed and adopted. You will help shape common patterns, principles, and standards that allow teams to move quickly while still addressing security, resiliency, governance, and risk.
This is a highly visible role with frequent interaction with senior technology leaders. You will be expected to influence strategy and direction while remaining close to architecture and design decisions. The work will span multiple SaaS platforms, with outcomes that are shared more broadly across the enterprise, directly influencing how AI enabled SaaS solutions are built and evolved at Wells Fargo.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00

In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop the architectural framework and delivery approach for highly complex SaaS and AI enabled business and technical solutions across multiple groups
- Lead the strategy and resolution of complex, unique challenges requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering long term, scalable architectural solutions
- Define and communicate current state, target state, and transition architectures for AI enabled SaaS capabilities
- Establish and socialize architecture principles, patterns, standards, and guardrails that guide consistent AI adoption across SaaS platforms
- Strategically engage with technologists, product teams, and leaders at all levels, serving as a domain expert and trusted architectural advisor
- Ensure solutions adhere to Wells Fargo standards, security policies, risk controls, and architectural governance requirements
- Drive the definition, selection, and adoption of architecture frameworks and strategic tools relevant to SaaS and AI platforms
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, emerging AI technologies, and SaaS best practices, recommending innovations that improve efficiency, resiliency, and scalability
- Influence internal technology roadmaps and, where appropriate, external vendor strategies to support enterprise wide outcomes
- 7+ years of architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 5+ years of software engineering experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 3+ years of experience working with Software as a Service (SaaS) products, either as an architect, an engineer, or a combination of both
- 1+ year of experience working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technologists, senior managers, and executive leadership
- An architect's ability to think broadly and systemically paired with an engineer's hands on mentality and focus on delivery
- Subject matter expertise in corporate functions business areas such as Human Resources, Legal, Public Affairs and/or Finance
- A strong interest in AI technologies, with a demonstrated ability to stay current and adapt as the field continues to evolve
- Experience providing and socializing technical thought leadership to influence IT strategy and drive delivery of robust, scalable solutions
- Ability to engage effectively with business and technical partners at all levels in a complex, matrixed environment
- Knowledge and understanding of modern cybersecurity practices and IT risk controls, particularly as they relate to SaaS and AI enabled systems
- Ability to work on site in one of the posted locations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
