The Opportunity:  

 

We’re seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, data-driven, technical, and business-oriented Principal Analyst to analyze and own Pricing & Profitability for Workhuman’s E-commerce store. As part of our market-leading mission-oriented employee recognition platform, Workhuman’s best-in-class global E-commerce store allows users to seamlessly redeem their recognition points for merchandise, gift cards, and experiences to magnify the impact of peer recognition. The Principal Analyst will take our E-commerce pricing strategy to the next level. 

 

The ideal candidate will construct our pricing strategy and lay out the roadmap to continue evolving and improving the sophistication of our pricing approach. They will become an expert in our pricing systems and capabilities, build a deep understanding our data infrastructure, and develop analytically rigorous approaches to support decision-making related to pricing. Leveraging Workhuman’s rich data, they will conduct analyses to maximize the trade-off between offering competitive prices while maximizing profitability, and implement pricing changes directly in our system to achieve our objectives. 

 

We’ve experienced incredible growth over the last few years, and are investing in our Data and Analytics capabilities to drive the innovation and data-driven thinking to ensure our continued growth and success. The Principal Analyst will be part of the Business Analytics team. They will report to the Director of Ecommerce Analytics, and partner closely with a variety of business stakeholders across the organization, including Category Management, Sourcing, Client Engagement, Finance, and Product & Technology teams.

** This is a hybrid role which requires at least 3 days a week onsite in our (brand new!) Framingham, MA office** 

**Applicants must have valid permanent work authorization in the U.S. (e.g., U.S. citizen, permanent resident). We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage end-to-end Pricing & Profitability strategy and execution for the entire e-commerce store, including formulating hypotheses, constructing pricing scenarios, and testing various strategies to measure impact and implement changes 

  • Design, develop and implement advanced analytics techniques to support pricing analysis e.g., designing and executing tests, clustering analysis, regression analysis 

  • Build, own, and maintain a large and complex system of data models, transforming raw data all the way into aggregated tables that feed into dashboards that support pricing analysis 

  • Design metrics and production dashboards using data visualization tools to create visibility into all aspects of day-to-day performance impacted by pricing strategy 

  • Monitor business health and deep-dive trends to surface actionable insights 

  • Interface with cross-functional stakeholders to thought partner on data-informed strategic decision-making 

 

Desired skills and experience: 

  • Proven experience independently delivering business results in highly technical business-oriented analytics roles within technology organizations – preferably with a background in B2C dynamic pricing 

  • Expertise in querying, analyzing, and visualizing big datasets via a combination of writing SQL and building dashboards using data visualization tools 

  • Proficient in R/Python with demonstrated experience applying advanced analytics & data science techniques to solve business problems 

  • Demonstrated history of building production-grade data models that power dashboards and live technology solutions 

  • Strong communication & project management skills and a highly collaborative approach to problem-solving 

  • Ability to simultaneously understand the business while focusing deeply on technological and analytical details 

  • Strong business intuition with a bias towards action 

  • BA/BS or equivalent technical certification, preferably in a quantitative discipline 

The base salary range for this position is $150,000–$175,000. Offered base compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other factors relevant to the scope and responsibilities of this role.

This role is also eligible for bonus or other variable compensation based on job performance and our standard benefits package, which supports employee well-being and work-life balance.
