What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • BS/MS in Occupational Safety, Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental), Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years of environmental/compliance consulting (12+ years preferred), including 3+ years in business development.

  • Proven ability to manage large, complex programs and deliver exceptional client outcomes.

  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Preferred:

  • Established reputation and technical expertise in EHS compliance.

  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.

  • Existing relationships with regulatory authorities and major industrial clients in the Eastern U.S.

  • Local or East Coast metropolitan area candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Grow: Drive ERM’s EHS compliance and auditing services in the East Coast market through strategic leadership and business development.

  • Client Partnership: Build and expand relationships with industrial clients, ensuring repeat business through exceptional delivery and trust.

  • Technical Excellence: Oversee permitting, compliance assurance, and auditing programs, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.

  • Mentorship: Guide junior and mid-level consultants, fostering technical growth and leadership skills.

  • Global Collaboration: Partner with ERM experts worldwide to deliver integrated solutions and advance global strategies.

For the Principal Consultant, Safe and Sustainable Operations position, the anticipated annual base pay is $134,470 – $159,499 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.

Note: Bonuses, commissions, and other forms of additional compensation are not guaranteed and subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures.
