Job Description
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors, is seeking a Principal Business Analyst to join our Digital Technologies team, playing a key role in driving enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives. This role bridges business stakeholders, technology, teams, and delivery partners to ensure digital solutions meet mission, operational, and regulatory needs within a defense focused environment.
This can be a remote position within the US with approximately 10-20% travel. Salary ranges vary by location. We work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead business analysis activities across complex digital transformation initiatives from discovery through delivery.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational needs, and pain points.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories, process flows and functional specifications
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with cross functional and multi-level stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, and engineering teams in Agile delivery environments
  • Support standard validation and UAT efforts

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years experience or the overall equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst with in-depth experience writing business requirements for supporting technology initiative (ideally 6+ years)
  • Proven experience working on digital transformation programs
  • Deep knowledge of BA practices including requirements management, process modeling, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Experience using Agile tools such as Jira or Confluence

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with PTC RVS, PTC Windchill, or Oracle EBS
  • Agile Certifications or equivalent experience
  • Business Analyst Certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA etc.)
  • Experience within the defense sector #LI-Onsite #LI-JR1

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92180 - $156707
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
