Healthcare’s helping hand.
CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.
Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding
At CHG Healthcare, we connect providers with hospitals that need them most, simplifying the complexities of staffing by helping hospital systems quickly find qualified locum tenens providers. We're now taking that mission further by embedding AI into our recruiting systems. We're looking for a Principal AI Product Manager to own strategy to modernize CHG's staffing and provider experience ecosystem by injecting AI solutions that drive efficiencies and higher quality decisions. This role will define the long-term vision for trustworthy, effective AI in healthcare staffing, shape investment priorities across multiple product lines, and serve as a senior product leader translating AI capability into enterprise impact. You'll operate with visibility across the executive team, and you'll be accountable for ensuring CHG's AI strategy translates into measurable business outcomes at scale.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for CHG's AI portfolio, building senior leadership alignment around the roadmap and driving decisions with significant influence on how the company operates.
- Own the AI product strategy across multiple initiatives and teams, ensuring coherence, sequencing, and prioritization that reflect the company's highest-value opportunities.
- Build and maintain a multi-year roadmap that anticipates market shifts, competitive dynamics, and emerging AI capabilities, rather than reacting to them.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, legal, compliance, and business unit leaders on company-wide AI initiatives with significant financial and reputational stakes.
- Act as the primary translator between technical capability and business strategy, advising executives on what's possible, what's risky, and what's worth funding.
- Represent CHG's AI strategy externally and internally, including with partners, vendors, and potential M&A or build/buy decisions.
- Mentor and develop senior and mid-level product managers, raising the bar for product craft and AI fluency across the organization.
- Establish and own the metrics that determine success for AI investments at the portfolio level, going beyond individual feature adoption to enterprise ROI.
- Define the evaluation frameworks, governance standards, and risk posture that other product managers and engineering teams build against, establishing what ethical, trustworthy, and safe AI practices mean at CHG.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of product management experience, including a demonstrated track record of leading AI/ML or intelligent automation initiatives at scale.
- Experience setting strategy and securing executive buy-in for major technology investments.
- Deep familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, and agentic systems, with the judgment to separate hype from durable value.
- Proven ability to both code and lead technical teams, comfortable going deep on architecture while also operating at the strategy layer.
- A track record of mentoring and elevating other product managers.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders who may not share technical context.
- Experience navigating ambiguous, high-stakes, fast-moving environments and bringing structure to them.
- Strong systems thinking, able to see how decisions in one area of the AI portfolio impact the broader organization.
