Allstate is looking for more analytical and technical, subject matter experts who can drive decisions as Allstate transforms and evolves into the future. An internship at Allstate is the first step. Are you up to the challenge?
An internship is a great way to gain valuable practical experience to jump start your career in technology and applied mathematics in insurance. You will learn how to analyze data and automate processes by creating tools using languages such as R, Python, Java, Java Script, React and SQL to help accelerate pricing projects. Allstate's Pricing Automation internships offer collaborative projects, daily coaching, and interaction with experienced professionals in a dynamic team environment. Features such as a training programs and an established mentoring initiative ensure that interns finish the summer prepared and invigorated for their future career. In addition to networking opportunities with a variety of actuarial and technology professionals, Allstate interns will also enjoy camaraderie with a talented group of peers.
As a Pricing Automation intern, you will gain a basic understanding of Allstate's property and casualty business lines. Working closely with experienced analytical and technical professionals, you will be accountable for timely completion of assignments involving pricing automation for auto, homeowners, or specialty lines, contributing to overall growth and profit goals of major initiatives. This is a virtual summer 2024 internship that will run for 12 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Software development using Java, Java Script, React, R, Python and SQL
  • Design and implement mathematical tools for pricing analysis
  • Present final project at the end of the internship to analysts

Job Qualifications
 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or related field AND be in strong academic standing; must be a full time student the semester following the internship
  • Can analyze data and review analysis while demonstrating strong decision making skills
  • Coding experience in at least two languages: Java, Java Script, React, R, Python and SQL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
