In the role of Podcast Showrunner/Lead Producer, you will report to the Multimedia Manager. This is slated to be a six month contract.
We are considering applicants for the location(s) of Remote, based in Dallas, Texas.
The Podcast Showrunner/Lead Producer is responsible for the production of weekly audio and video episodes of Crunchyroll's award-winning flagship podcast, The Anime Effect. In this position, you will drive the day-to-day production of the show, including, but not limited to, creating weekly episode outlines, developing regular show segments, and serving as a key point of contact for scheduling, data reporting, and technical execution of the podcast.
Core Areas of Responsibility- Creation of all show outlines and script deliverables, featuring compelling discussion topics from among the top anime news headlines and cultural topics of the week
- Develop recurring segments that highlight topics important to the anime community and contribute to the inclusivity and culture of The Anime Effect podcast
- Contribute to regular team meetings, identifying potential production roadblocks and solutions, as well as innovative, incremental additions to programming
- Coordinate with A/V producer, Editor, and Social Editor to ensure consistent production quality and on-time deliverables
- Coordinate with Multimedia Producer to ensure key marketing objectives are met
- Craft a sense of fun and belonging that brings new and returning viewership to one of the biggest anime podcasts in the world
- Opportunity to expand The Anime Effect via event programming, cross-team marketing, spin-off content, and additional audio/video programming

- You have 4+ years of experience directly managing an A/V podcast and/or broadcast production.
- You are passionate about anime culture and its importance to the broader community, and you're driven to innovate in this space.
- You are skilled in time and deadline management. You can remain innovative and flexible while ensuring that marketing goals are prioritized.
- You are comfortable with analytics tools and SEO implementation and can implement process changes based on data and user behavior.
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, RTVF (Radio, Television & Film), or a related field.
