About the team:
The Data Center and Network Engineer is responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and cost-effective network and data center infrastructure solutions in a complex, multi-vendor, multi-platform environment. This role supports the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network and data center technologies while ensuring operational excellence within a mission-critical production environment.
The position requires a hands-on technical professional with expertise in network communications, hardware installation, infrastructure support, and incident resolution. The engineer will lead and participate in regional infrastructure projects, managing planning, resource utilization, implementation activities, and operational support while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Working independently and collaboratively, the successful candidate will evaluate and resolve complex technical challenges, integrate emerging technologies into the production environment, and support continuous improvement initiatives across network, server, and storage platforms. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to established processes are essential, along with the ability to mentor team members and contribute to a high-performing engineering organization.
Key areas of focus include network design and optimization, data center operations, enterprise hardware deployment, project execution, technology integration, and operational support of critical infrastructure services. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a passion for technology, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Strong organizational, process-oriented, and documentation skills, with the ability to follow and improve established procedures.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to break down complex challenges into manageable solutions.
- Exposure to a variety of technical, academic, project, or extracurricular experiences that demonstrate curiosity and adaptability.
- Self-motivated learner who is eager to gain new experiences, take on diverse assignments, and contribute in a dynamic team environment.
- This role is not eligible for Mastercard's work authorization sponsorship. Base Salary: $25-30/hr

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
