Production Support (Java) - Las Vegas, NV

Role: Java Production Support / ProdOps Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Java Production Support / ProdOps Engineer to support business-critical applications in production. This role requires a strong Java development foundation combined with experience in production operations, release support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Provide production support for Java-based applications, including monitoring, incident triage, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution 

Support application deployments to production through GitLab CI/CD pipelines 

Build, enhance, and maintain GitLab deployment pipelines as needed 

Partner with development, QA, platform, and business teams to investigate and resolve production issues 

Analyze logs, application behavior, and system alerts to identify issues and recommend preventive actions 

Support release activities, including deployment validation, rollback coordination, and post-production monitoring 

Document recurring issues, runbooks, root-cause findings, and resolution steps 

Help improve application stability, deployment reliability, and operational readiness 

Required Skills and Experience

Strong hands-on Java development experience 

Experience supporting Java applications in a production environment 

Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and application deployments 

Experience with production monitoring, alert management, incident response, and root-cause analysis 

Familiarity with DevOps practices, release management, and production operations 

Strong troubleshooting skills across application logs, APIs, integrations, and batch processes 

Clear communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and business stakeholders 

Preferred Skills

Experience with AWS-hosted applications and related operational support 

Experience with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, or similar monitoring/logging platforms 

Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, SQL, REST APIs, and microservices 

Banking, financial services, or other high-volume transaction-processing experience 

Notes for Hiring Team

• Target candidates who started as Java developers and have moved into ProdOps, application support, SRE, or DevOps-oriented production support roles. 
• The candidate should be able to troubleshoot application issues—not only monitor infrastructure or route tickets to other teams. 
• GitLab pipeline experience should be hands-on, including supporting deployments and making pipeline changes where needed. 
• Look for clear examples of production incidents handled, root-cause analysis performed, and issues resolved end to end.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 39,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 137,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
