We are currently seeking a Plasma Melter at our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. As a Melter, you are an integral part of a successful team responsible for manufacturing titanium electrodes primarily used in the aerospace industry.


During the melting process, you will set up and operate our Plasma Melt Furnace while working in a controlled environment and rotating to the production floor every few hours to do general maintenance activities. During furnace turnaround, you will spend 2 days rebuilding components, cleaning and preparing melting hearths, and performing normal operating maintenance. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, dependability, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility in a changing environment.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required duties to set up and operate vacuum, positive pressure plasma arc furnace, and start cycle gas system
  • Perform all operating and safety checks
  • Continuously monitoring controls and gauges during operation
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible logs, records, and charts
  • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
  • At least one (1) year of maintenance or diesel background

Skills:

  • Basic math skills
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Moderate computer knowledge, with the ability to manipulate data using various programs and computers
  • Must be able to use hand tools, measuring instruments, meters and gauges to ensure proper setup and machining operations
  • Strenuous physical activity required for extended periods including lifting or carrying objects weighing fifty (50) pounds or more
  • Must have passed Respirator Protection screening
