You'll serve as a vital partner to our Insurance Product Managers, making data-backed recommendations that leadership will count on. With a hands-on approach, you'll keep a sharp eye on the line's trajectory, actively helping to shape its growth and profitability at NEXT.


What You’ll Do: 

  • Be the #1 subject matter expert at Next related to the pricing of the Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, or General Liability product (we have openings in all three LOB's)
  • Build and enhance actuarial methodologies around loss ratio forecast, rate indications, insurance analytics, and P&L management
  • Partner with Insurance Product Managers to drive future product developments
  • Partner with data science and data engineering to enable future-proof data architecture 
  • Deliver actuarially sound recommendations to senior management
  • Provide ad hoc support to other business partners, including but not limited to reinsurance, finance, distribution, claims, and growth teams. 

 

What We Need: 

  • FCAS or career ACAS mandatory 
  • 6+ years of actuarial experience; commercial insurance and product management experience preferred
  • Communication and collaboration - work effectively with cross functional partners
  • Gritty, self-driven personality - embrace challenges and are excited about unexplored possibilities
  • Intellectual curiosity - dig deep and solve complex business problems
  • Leadership mindset - identify business needs and drive solutions to meet them
  • Expertise with some or all of the following software: Tableau, SQL, Python, MS Office, Google Suite


The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. NEXT employees are eligible for our benefits package, consisting of our partially subsidized medical plan, fully subsidized vision/dental options, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k), flexible paid time off, parental leave and more.

US annual base salary range for this full-time position:
$150,000$195,000 USD
