Position: On-Site Physician
Location: Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, Cherokee, NC
Schedule: 1–2 days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Physician provides on-site medical services to Job Corps students ages 16–24. The role focuses on the early identification, treatment, and prevention of health issues and promoting overall wellness. Services are provided in accordance with OSHA, HIPAA, state, and federal regulations, as well as the guidelines of the American Medical Association and Job Corps standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct physical examinations (intake and ongoing), diagnose, and treat students.
Develop and implement medical treatment plans and chronic care management strategies.
Prescribe medications (controlled and non-controlled).
Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in compliance with state laws.
Maintain complete and accurate Student Health Records (SHR).
Provide first aid, CPR, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
Collaborate with the Substance Abuse Counselor and Center Medical Counselor for medication management.
MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license in North Carolina.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in primary or adolescent care preferred.
Current malpractice/professional liability insurance.
